Whenever you feel hunger pangs strike you, first fill up a glass of water and drink it. Give yourself about fifteen minutes to determine whether it was actually hunger you felt or just thirst. This can cut down significantly on your snacking, which in turn will help you to lose weight.

Just before you eat a meal, drink another glass of water. It will help to fill up your stomach, which means that you will not feel the need to eat as much as you ordinarily do. If you find it hard to chug down a large glass of water, drink at least half of it and then continue to sip on it while you eat. You can even jazz up your plain glass of water and make it more appetizing by adding a splash of lemon or lime juice in it.
